MDOT To Hold Nine Mile Bridge Update Meeting

The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced it will hold an open house to update the public on their project replacing the Nine Mile bridge over I-75.

The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Nov. 12 at Hazel Park City Hall, 111 E. Nine Mile, reported the Detroit News.

The bridge has been out of commission since July, when a three-vehicle crash triggered a gasoline tanker exploding beneath the bridge, causing it to collapse.

Included in this $12 million project is the reconstruction of half a mile of I-75 between Breckenridge and Highland avenues, updating freeway lighting and drainage, plus the replacement of traffic signals on the I-75 service drives at Nine Mile.
