|
The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced it will hold an open house to update the public on their project replacing the Nine Mile bridge over I-75. The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Nov. 12 at Hazel Park City Hall, 111 E. Nine Mile, reported the Detroit News. The bridge has been out of commission since July, when a three-vehicle crash triggered a gasoline tanker exploding beneath the bridge, causing it to collapse. Included in this $12 million project is the reconstruction of half a mile of I-75 between Breckenridge and Highland avenues, updating freeway lighting and drainage, plus the replacement of traffic signals on the I-75 service drives at Nine Mile. |
